Hi, I’m Daniel.

I’m Daniel Spalding, based in the Portland, Oregon area. I’ve worked in IT for over 20 years, and my day job is in cybersecurity and computer forensics. Craft IT is my side business.

Most of what I do is networking, computer repair and building computers — I’m a tinkerer at heart. At home I run my own server setup with Proxmox, Home Assistant and a private AI chat, so no job is too small or too nerdy, from a dead hard drive to a whole-house network.

Because Craft IT is a side business, I take on a limited number of jobs and give each one my full attention. You’ll always deal with me directly, get a plain-English explanation of what I found, and be able to check on your repair online any time.
